Biography
Saya Naruse is a performance artist who creates puppets inspired by nature and tells stories with natural elements. Saya's puppets are designed with elegance and natural earthiness. Saya's passion for nature and the environment is reflected in every aspect of her work, from the materials she uses to the stories she tells. Saya aims to inspire a love for nature and a desire to protect it.​

Saya’s puppetry director and designer credits include: Cinderella: A Fairytale (Northern Stage), Pursuers of the Future (Theatre Space North East) Caring for Mother (R&D)
Saya designed and created her first solo outdoor puppetry show in collaboration with Thingumajig Theatre in 2023. She has worked as a maker on projects for Emergency Exit Arts, Handmade Parade, the Fabularium, Thingumajig Theatre, Sidmouth Folk Fest, and the University of East London.
She has worked as a facilitator for GemArts, Stellar Projects, ARC Stockton, and Theatre Space North East.
